Daily Slice O' Life

+ Saw the headline for this article and thought - am I missing something??? Yes - Bin Laden should be taken seriously! The problem is that The Shrub is just figuring this out. Ladies and Gentlemen - the President!

+ Rummy is at it again. A Pentagon-commissioned study warns that the Army needs more troops for Iraq and Afghanistan, and that the service is close to its breaking point. The study by Andrew Krepinevich, a military analyst and former Army officer, found that the Army's manpower needs for those conflicts "clearly exceed those available for the mission." So what is Rummy's response? Hogwash. Interesting note - Rumsfeld said he has not read the study but took issue with its conclusions. Ladies and Gentlemen - the Secretary of Defense!

+ On a sad note, actor Chris Penn has died. Results of an autopsy didn't reveal the cause of death. Most remember him for his role in Reservoir Dogs but to me, he'll always be Ren's clumsy buddy Willard in Footloose.

+ Lastly, some sports news of note for any basketball fans out there. Ron Artest has been traded to the Sacramento Kings. Please join me in saying to the Kings...good luck with that.
