It's Official

WOOO HOOO!!!

I confirmed today that I am officially registered to participate in the AIDS Marathon National Training Program!!! Say hello to runner # 6146! The San Francisco Marathon is scheduled for July 30 and the training program begins on Feb. 4th.

As you may expect this is the biggest physical challenge I have ever decided to undertake. There are many reasons why I decided to do it. Some include - the inspiration of the thousands of people who have gone before me - most importantly my brother-in-law and sister-in-law who have both completed the Honolulu Marathon (with the help of this training program), the chance to challenge myself and most importantly, the opportunity to raise money for an excellent cause.

The money I raise will allow the San Francisco AIDS Foundation to continue to provide vital AIDS services and support needle exchange programs throughout the Bay to help stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. Proceeds will also fund the Pangaea Fund, a new initiative to support vaccine preparedness and HIV Treatment access in the developing world.

I have pledged to raise at least $1700 - and hope to raise MUCH more!!!

If you feel so inclined - head over here and MAKE A DONATION!! It will be greatly appreciated.

Expect to read much more in the future posts on this humble little blog about this incredible adventure.
