Damon or Demon?

So Johnny D the Rock Star Caveman has decided to take the money and run to the Dark Side.....At first I was completely stunned. Alot of this had to do with the fact that someone who has been so recognizable as the face of the Red Sox was now plastered all over every sports site on the web clean shaven, hair cut in a NY yankee hat. The image was totally frightening.

My next reaction was sadness - not for the Sox but for Johnny himself. I don't think he realizes what he has gotten himself into. In Boston he was a baseball god who could do no wrong - even when he had to use Manny as a cut-off man to get the ball into the infield. Just wait until he tries that shit in NY. Let's see how amusing they think he is then....

My latest reaction - after reading the quote below - "Johnny, you're a fraud!

Get a load of this -

"I want to stay here, but I may walk and go home. I might shut it down in a couple of years.

"There's no way I can go play for the Yankees, but I know they are going to come after me hard. It's definitely not the most important thing to go out there for the top dollar, which the Yankees are going to offer me. It's not what I need.

"I'd like to finish my career here [Boston]. I'm not sure they'll let me do it, if they offer me [only] two or three years [on a contract]. I want at least four or five.

-- Johnny Damon, 5/01/05, on MLB.com

Whatever dude.

Good luck!

24 news and notes - Prequel

from TVGuide online:

24 PREQUEL NEWS: This week's Season 4 DVD release of Fox's 24 features a "miniepisode," about 10 minutes in length, that bridges the gap between last season, at the end of which Jack staged his death, and the new one, which begins unspooling Jan. 15. Per Variety, the "prequel," set 14 months after the Season 4 finale, kicks off with a clandestine meeting between Jack and Chloe and ends with Kim being devoured by a mountain lion. OK, wishful thinking on that last part.

The Season 4 DVD is scheduled for release on 12/6/05 (that's tomorrow people!!).

Stop the insanity

Call me crazy but doesn't Congress have a little more to do with their time than get involved in the BCS??

Yo people! Stop this insanity and get to work on investigating a few things of just a bit more importance like universal healthcare or the war?

Is this too much to ask?

*sigh*

Dane Cook hosting SNL

I haven't been a big fan of the show lately but tomorrow night should be an exception to the rule.

Another of my favorite comedians these days gets to realize a childhood dream by hosting Saturday Night Live. Dane Cook is an extremely funny guy.

Make sure you check him out.

Robert Klein

One of my Top 5 favorite comedians is back with a new special on HBO on Saturday night.

Set your TiVO, DVR or VCR. It will be an enjoyable hour that you don't want to miss (even though HBO will show the darn thing a million times in the near future).

Sci-fi channel does it again

Sci-fi channel continues to step up.

First they gave us the amazing mini-series Taken. Next up on Monday night, Dec. 5th at 9pm comes a new mini-series about the Bermuda Triangle.

With a solid cast and excellent subject matter it should prove to be another exciting bit of TV.

Enjoy.

Invasion article

from CNN.com - A cool article on Shaun Cassidy (yes - the one and the same), the executive producer of ABC's Invasion.

Enjoy.

The axe has fallen

While browsing through the headlines on CNN.com I spotted this news about one of my favorite shows of the new season.

CBS has decided to cancel Threshold. They just moved it from friday night (a horrible night for TV) at 9pm to tuesday night at 10pm. They proceed to show it ONE TIME in the tuesday spot - during Thanksgiving week no less and then reference "sluggish" ratings on both friday AND tuesday nights. HELLO - since when is one night a proper gauge of anything?? I guess CBS just wanted it gone so they can give us another CSI spin-off because we don't have enough crime dramas on TV now.

Oh well - we still have Invasion. Let's hope ABC doesn't get hold of the stupid pills CBS got their hands on.

SWITCHED on!

It's out!!! "It" being the new INXS CD - Switch! I pre-ordered it from Sony at the beginning of November then had to listen repeatedly to my download of "Pretty Vegas" for 3 1/2 long weeks while waiting for it to be released. When I arrived home from work last night it was sitting there patiently in my mail box waiting for me. Surprisingly I didn't immediately tear off the wrapping and throw it into the CD player. This is what happens when you have a 4yr old daughter who would much rather watch "Cinderelli" instead. I waited until she went to bed and then curled up on the couch while working online and listened to it. There are songs that I immediately love - Devil's Party, Afterglow, Like It or Not and Pretty Vegas while the others have each grown on me in the last 18hrs.

I miss Michael and wasn't sure what I would think of INXS without him but JD is up to the task and happily INXS are BACK!!! Actually - they just proved they never really left.

Now go buy the CD!

Alias makes it official

As expected, ABC announced that Alias will end its 5 year run in May.

I for one have enjoyed the ride immensely and will be there until the bitter end. In all fairness I thought this season had jumped the shark when Vaughn got "killed" but they have managed to hold my interest by introducing the two new agents and deftly working around Syd's pregnancy.

I fully expect them to pull out all the stops for a rockin' finale in May - Sark, Mommy Bristow and most definitely one Michael Vaughn - come on down!

The countdown to the end begins.

Happy Thanksgiving

Just a quick note to all for a safe and Happy Thanksgiving holiday!

Now go eat!

Thanksgiving? I should say so....

So I'm driving into work this morning listening to the morning show on KNBR when one of their top 6 sports stories of the day turns out to be this - Josh Beckett is coming to Boston!

My first reaction was to swerve my car back onto the road. My second - holy crap! They got Beckett!

It's a move that will inevitably be compared to the Thanksgiving signing of Curt Schilling 2 years ago.

Beckett, Papelbon and Lester......try saying that 10 times fast.

I know - pretty cool huh?

24 news (finally)....

Here's the latest and greatest from FOX on some additions to the show and a general plot outline -

"As 24's highly-anticipated premiere approaches, the cast is growing, with Julian Sands ("A Room with a View"), Peter Weller ("Robo Cop") and Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress JoBeth Williams ("Poltergeist" and "The Big Chill") join the series for it's fifth heart-stopping season. 24 premieres with a four-hour, two-night event Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Additionally, the second hour on Monday, Jan. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) will mark the series' 100th episode.

British born actor Julian Sands will play billionaire bad guy "Vladamir Bierko" while Peter Weller portrays "Christopher Henderson," the federal agent who recruited Jack to counter terrorist work more than a decade ago. JoBeth Williams is Henderson's wife, Miriam. All three characters will come face-to-face with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as he desperately attempts to prevent the series' most lethal terror threat yet on US soil.

Season five picks up 18 months after the exciting conclusion of season four, as national security is brutally breached. A presumed dead Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is actually living a new life with Diane (Connie Britton) and her son Derek (Brady Corbet). A shaky President Logan (Gregory Itzin) is running the nation, while composed Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) commands CTU alongside key operatives Curtis Manning (Roger Cross), Edgar Stiles (Louis Lombardi) and Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Also featured in season five will be Emmy Award-winning actress Jean Smart as First Lady Martha Logan. In addition, Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) and Audrey Raines (Kim Raver) return, while Lynn McGill (Sean Astin) joins CTU."

Blink....blink....blink....blink......

So IT begins.

I won't take the time to bore you with a big long story as to why "it begins" (there will be plenty on that in the future) but just so you know - I started running again this weekend. It was nothing big mind you (only just under a mile in approx. 10 minutes or so) but it was a start to what I hope will carry me to the finish line of the SF Marathon in July 2006.....WHOA - you say. Kind of drastic no? Inspired by both my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law (who both have finished the Honolulu Marathon) I figured what a better way to celebrate a major milestone in my life than beating the hell out of my body for 26 miles.

Like I said - there will be much more on this to follow but for now know that I have at least gotten started and for many that is the toughest part.

Alaskan Refuge Drilling.....

Just read this and can't seem to get the smile off my face....

I read that if they went ahead and drilled in Alaska, by the year 2025, it would lower our dependence on foreign oil from 70% to 66%. It got me thinking we should probably be looking at some options other than "trying to develop our own oil reserves". Time to invest some money in alternative energy resources people! We can put a man on the moon but can't seem to figure out a way to make a car run on something other than gasoline??? Oh wait - yes we can....but how will the oil companies make their $10billion profits if we do that?

*sigh*

Hey wait - *big grin*

Terminated.

So we have this Governor in CA named Schwarzenegger - perhaps you've heard of him? He calls this special election to try and get these 4 ballot initiatives passed that he says will make CA better. He spends boatloads of money on advertising for these initiatives and travels the state speaking about them....so what happens??? CA voters go to the polls yesterday and CRUSH THEM ALL.

If you are interested in details pop over here :

Looks like the people have spoken. To quote Linda Hamilton, "You're terminated f-er!"

Well done.

President Palmer

From TV Guide Online's "Ask Ausiello" column (where I get all this dirt)...

Question: In last week's AA, you said President Palmer would figure into this year's 24 plot in a major way. But does that mean Dennis Haysbert will be back for the entire season? — Tami

Ausiello: President Palmer will figure into this year's plot in a major way.

So Palmer will be involved come January.....nice.

Live Wing

As a West Wing fan who stopped watching the show last year (opting for the "I'll catch up on it once it comes out on DVD" approach), I will be DVRing the show this sunday night at 8pm. The reason?? An actual LIVE debate between the two presidential candidates (played superbly by Alan Alda - the Repub and Jimmy Smits - The Dem) "running" for president on the show. I've seen several episodes from last season when they started going through the primary process and the presidential campaign and I have kicked myself for not keeping the show on my "watch list". This may just provide the push I need to get it back into the rotation. See ya sunday night at 8.

Praise for Grey's

Just had to cut and paste this short column from Matt Roush at TVGuideOnline about Grey's Anatomy...

"One of the happier surprises of this TV season has been my deepening crush on Grey's Anatomy, which has taken advantage of Desperate Housewives' sophomore malaise to become the water-cooler show on Sunday night. (And a show I gave a lukewarm review when it premiered last spring.)

This week's (Oct. 30) episode may have been the best yet, a scintillating mix of soap opera and medical drama — with just the right blend of mordant comedy (Cristina's hunt for the missing leg) and wrenching tragedy (the two train passengers impaled by a metal pole, only one of whom could possibly survive).

Grey's is a fabulous show for "shippers" who groove on will-they-or-won't-they dynamics, epitomized by Meredith's mortifyingly drunken wait for Dr. McDreamy's answer — will he pick her, as she asked him to do to his face, or will he stay with his intimidating estranged wife Addison (a name I've loved since All About Eve). He picked Addison, but for how long?

Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey are perfectly sympathetic and swoony as the star-crossed couple, but there's also the compellingly tentative relationship between another young doctor and her aloof boss, with Sandra Oh's voraciously ambitious Cristina Yang battling her feelings for Isaiah Washington's coolly efficient Dr. Burke.

Adding new wrinkles to the show's relationship romp is the Izzie-Alex flirtation, nicely underplayed by Katherine Heigl and Justin Chambers. Izzie is justifiably puzzled over obnoxious hotdog Alex's sudden ambivalence toward his work and his play. (He didn't even kiss the former underwear model on their date.) How long before everyone realizes that Alex's medical career is in the balance?

And then there's my absolute favorite, George (T.R. Knight), a mouse who roars when the circumstances are right. He stepped up like a champ when he and Alex were stuck in a stalled elevator with a patient who needed emergency open-heart surgery. (Alex, struggling with self-doubt, froze.) At home with Meredith and Izzie, George is treated like one of the girls, with the condescension you'd give a tagalong brother or maybe a pet. He writhes with comic frustration at not being taken seriously, as either a doctor or a man. But we can see what they don't, that he's got the goods.

The other great performance on Grey's Anatomy is Chandra Wilson's brusque, funny and ferocious Dr. Bailey, supervisor of the young docs. A tiny dynamo of attitude and barely disguised compassion, she's a role model in many ways, not the least being the fact (which came as a surprise to all) that she has been happily married for years.

Grey's Anatomy has charisma and tremendous entertainment value and buzzes with the glorious hum of all cylinders working, reminiscent of ER during its early days. (That original cast is taking on a mythic hue, kind of like Saturday Night Live's classic ensemble of the first five years.) Though ER has badly faded into a mopey bad habit occasionally brought to life by a memorable patient, Grey's and House (which makes a welcome return this week) prove that the TV medical drama is far from dead."

I couldn't have said it any better....can't wait for sunday night to arrive.

This and That...

So many things to talk about...here we go....

Libby - it's about flippin time!...and anyone who tries to tell me that he was the only one involved with this is smoking the good stuff. Yeah sure - he was sitting there alone in his office plotting the demise of Joe Wilson.....Sure....let's just see what else Fitzgerald comes up with.

Theo - How the hell did the Red Sox manage to screw this one up?? Is he irreplaceable?? No....but come on. I guess they got what they deserved for low-balling him earlier this year and dragging out the "negotiations" until now. Good luck to you wherever you end up Theo....we'll always have 2004.

Tedy - welcome back!! It was nice to see you patrolling the middle of the field again and bringing some fire back to the D. We will always worry about you but we also have faith that you have thought this through and are doing the right thing. You are a football player......Just Do It!....and good luck on MNF...we'll be watching!

TV - Here is what we're watchin'....

1. Desperate H'Wives (its been ok)
2. Grey's Anatomy - my new favorite show. Sandra Oh is THE BEST! It just keeps getting better and better each week.
3. Surface - good old fashioned Sea Monster fun. Can take it or leave it....currently taking it.....Lake Bell - yummy.
4. Big Break IV - love this show. It's fun to watch these guys compete and learn a bit about each of them. The format is USA vs. Europe so you think you'd want to not like the Euros but they are all cool. Fairways and greens Paul - I'm rooting for ya!
5. Lost - really enjoying it so far this season (when its on.....*argh*)...Dharma Industries....Life in the hatch....Desmond.....we found the tailies and The Others.....and now someone is going to die!!! I can't wait.
6. Invasion - started off slowly but its getting good.
7. The OC - yes, we finally caught up.....Taylor and the Dean?? Come on! Marissa in public school...Come on! Her friends there remind me of the "Bizarro World" episode of Seinfeld....It should be interesting.
8. Alias - I actually like the "new" Alias. Once they shot Vaughn I really wasn't looking forward to watching a hormonal Syd go after his killer....but they have switched the story around little bit and the new characters are cool. Rachel, Rachel, Rachel....more yummy.
9. Threshold - good stuff. Not sure where they are going to take the story though....I'm getting tired of watching them chase the alien signal all over the country to try and stop it from spreading....enuf already....can we move things along? I liked the twist they pulled having the senator steal the signal, infect the entire plane and have them have to shoot the thing down.....cool stuff. Let's see what they have in store for us going forward.

WOW - lots of TV....but its some good stuff! :)

Got the special election coming up here in CA on tuesday....Propositions coming out of our ears over here.....looking forward to putting Ah-nuld back in his place......Reading a great multiple part series in the SF Chronicle about the GG Bridge and the arguements for putting up a suicide barrier....gripping stuff....Google has gone and launched Google Print amid controversy about copyright infringement....not sure how its going to all turn out but I'm going to enjoy it as long as I can.....Yahoo announced a new and improved Yahoo! Maps that they upgraded to compete with Google Maps.....seems like everyone is gunning for Google......Keep up the great work Googlers....

My fantasy teams are horrendous......I am actually 0-8 in one of my football leagues and 1-7 (I won in week 1) in another. It's been a weird year so far.....sad.....look out Tampa Bay I'm gunning for your 0-16 mark (and the #1 pick in next years draft)...how long until pitchers and catchers report??? Basketball has just begun...I have a team with alot of potential....we'll see if any of that turns into talent and carries me somewhere...I'll bet you are all waiting breathlessly......or maybe not.

Guess I'm done babbling all over the computer...The Daily Show is about to start...what a better reason to sign off.....G'night.

Boo Hoo!

Can you believe this ??

My favorite quote -
"There's a code of honor when so much is on the line," Rodriguez told the New York Daily News. "You hope people do the right thing. But you can't control what people do."

This from Mr. Integrity himself last seen slapping the ball away from Bronson Arroyo in Game 6 of the ALCS...

The biggest suprise - from GM Brian Cashman:
"If we had won one more game, we wouldn't have to be worried about what anybody else did,"

Couldn't have said it better myself.

The 2005 playoffs have arrived. Bring it On!

LOST Season Finale - if anyone's interested...

ABC is showing the LOST first season finale tonight from 9-11pm. So if you are curious about last season, would like at least a small setup for Season 2 or just want to see a really cool 2 hours on TV - give it a shot.

Next week is the biggie - Season 2 premiere.

Premiere Dates

For anyone who cares - here are the premiere dates for the shows that i have an interest in this Fall....

Returnees:
Desperate Housewives - Sept 25 - 9-10pm (ABC)
Grey's Anatomy - Sept 25 - 10-11pm (ABC)
Boston Legal - Sept 27 - 10-11pm (ABC)
The OC - Sept 8 - 8-9pm (FOX)
Lost - Sept 21 - 9-10pm (ABC)
Alias - Sept 29 - 8-9pm (ABC)
Curb Your Enthusiasm - Sept 25 - 10-11pm (HBO) FINALLY!!!

Newbies:
Invasion - Sept 21 - 10-11pm (ABC)
Threshold - Sept 16 - 9-10pm (CBS)
Surface - Sept 19 - 8-9pm (NBC)
The Night Stalker - Sept 29 - 9-10pm (ABC)

Looks like ABC has made a HUGE comeback for me. They reached a lowpoint a few years back with the cancellation of Sports Night. The cancellation of Life with Bonnie last year (and subsequently keeping that drivel Hope & Faith on the air) was another brilliant move on their part (SO NOt!) but I have to admit - they've got some great shows on the docket these days. Just give them time, right?.....NBC - wow how the mighty have fallen.

24 stuff

I'm back...been a while......just sitting here watching the 24 Marathon on A+E. I'd almost forgotten how much fun things were last season. Watching the final hour at the moment. Mandy has just given up Marwan and the Tony and Michelle reunion is coming soon.

Not sure why I hadn't heard about this yet but starting next week A+E is going to be showing 24 from the very beginning. Very cool.

Some random notes from the coming season.....Bill Buchanan, Tony, Edgar and Chloe are all scheduled to return to be joined by everyone's 2nd favortie hobbit - Sean Astin. No major plot details to report (oooop - Marwan just fell to his death from the parking garage...damn still as disappointing as it was the first time I saw it)....The only thing I've read about the new season is that its 18months later and Jack is dating someone new....Oh yeah - President Dipshit is back. I'm so excited I can hardly breath...gasp gasp.....January 8th cannot come soon enough.

It was a heck of a summer for TV if I do say so myself. The 4400 and Dead Zone were both amazing. Battlestar Galactica continues to be awesome but my favorite show of the summer has been Entourage. Last night was the Season 2 finale and I am already missing it. Time to go and rent season 1 on DVD again.....

The fall has several promising new shows on tap - Invasion, Threshold and Surface all look interesting. I'll probably check them all out and then figure out which one I prefer. As an X-Files fan I can't wait to check out Night Stalker on ABC. Never got a chance to see the original but hope this turns out to be good. Prison Break has gotten a ton of hype but right now I just don't have enough time in my life for it. I taped - sorry DVR'd - the first 2 hours but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. By the way - LOVING the new DVR. No more VHS tapes to worry about, pause, rewind live tv.....LOVE IT. We've got The OC starting this thursday, Sept. 8th (and I haven't caught up on the end of last season yet...guess I'll have to do that soon). Alias and Lost start in a couple of weeks along wtih Grey's Anatomy - can't wait!!!

Oh well enough TV rambling for now....blah blah blah.....going to watch the last 20 minutes of 24.

I'll try and make sure I check in on a more regular basis from this point forward.

Enjoy!

What a NIGHT!

At this moment I (and most of the Red Sox Nation) have a EXTRA-SERIOUS case of man love!

First - with 1 out in the top of the 9th inning he homers to tie the game at 3. Then in the top of the 10th as if to say DON'T MESS WITH THE WORLD CHAMPIONS - he hits a 3 run job to put the game on ice. Captain Tek's 2 run homer (HIS 2nd of the game as well) was just icing on the cake.

Yes I can say it - I LOVE BIG PAPI!

Around the league tonight:

Mariano the Stepford Relief Pitcher blew the save in the bottom of the 9th giving up a blast to - get this - Eduardo Perez. WOW. If TB can mange to finish off the Evil Empire in extra innings it will cap off quite an evening of baseball.

Sox game update - "Gas Can" Remlinger has got them loaded up with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th. In all his time here with the Sox has he managed to get out of a single appearance without giving something up?? Good thing we built us a 7 run lead...JEEZUZ - Craig Monroe hit a freakin GRAND SLAM off of Remlinger to make it 10-7 before Inge flied out to end the game. PHEW.....breath.....Ladies and Gentlemen....your 2005 Red Sox Bullpen....never thought I'd say this outloud but "Where the heck is Keith Foulke?"

They've done it....FINAL SCORE - TB 4, The Empire 3.....Sweeeeet!

The lead is back to 4 1/2. Time to go catch Papi, Tek and the rest of the gang on ESPNews.

    Enjoy.

    24 news

Some 24 news from TV Guide Online:

24 + 3 = HMMMM...: Although Fox is keeping a tight lid on plot details for the fifth season of 24, due to launch in January with two consecutive nights of two-hour movie events, more casting news is trickling out: On the heels of Carlos Bernard's announced return as Tony comes news that Jean Smart (Designing Women) has been cast as the wife of dimwit-in-chief President Logan. Also, Variety reports that Connie Britton (Spin City) will fill the role of Kiefer Sutherland's new on-screen love interest (farewell, forever-sobbing Audrey!) and Brady Corbett (Mysterious Skin) will play her son.

    The good -
*two consecutive nights of two hour movie events to start the new 24 season
    *Carlos Bernard returns!! Yay Tony!

    The bad -
*No word on Reiko....Have she and Tony split again?
    *January??? *sob*
*Idiot Logan is back as President.....why don't you just make Chloe VP so I can dispise the entire ticket.

    More news as it trickles.....

Congress? We don't need no stinkin' Congress!

    More from the village idiot...

Don't look now - it just keeps on getting better and better every minute!

    *sigh*

    80's trivia...Lyrics-style!

    Check this out!

It looks like a blast. I'll let you know how I did once I have the chance to take it (for some reason I think they might frown on me taking it here at the office - but I can throw this post up here wicked quick!)

    Enjoy.

    Insurgents or Terrorists???

    So now they're insurgents?

Isn't it funny that during his IRAQ speech last week, Bush never mentioned insurgents referring to them instead as terrorists...Of course it's much easier to make multiple references to 9/11 that way....you don't hear much about the 9/11 insurgents....

    Argh...

    Jack Bauer...Movie Star?

    From TV Guide online:

TIME CHECK: Execs at Fox's 24 are thinking about transporting Jack Bauer to the big screen. Jon Cassar, one of the show's producer/directors, told the Calgary Sun that a 24 movie has been discussed, but added that "it could still be two years from now, so it's far too early to say." Should the project pan out, Cassar said it would not follow the show's real-time format entirely. "The first hour will not be in real time," he said. "But then something big will happen and real time will kick in." As will Chloe's inner Terminator.

Could be cool....a logistical nightmare...but cool. Even so - don't really have any desire to see Chloe and her various lemon face's on the big screen.

I'm still waiting patiently for the next X-Files movie...Gillian Anderson...now that's more like it!

    Are we done yet?

Here's a page from the "Please can we just let it go" file.....Looks like Governor Jeb has his nose in the middle of a mess yet again...

The autopsy findings weren't enough to put this thing to bed?? Enough already!

    Geesh.

    TV Talk

Entourage. This incredibly entertaining series has picked up right where it left off - kicking ass and taking names. The dialogue is sharp and Jeremy Piven steals every scene that he is in. If you aren't already on the bandwagon you need to get off your ass and go change the channel....

The 4400. After a phenomenal run last year my expectations were really high for the 2nd season. So far things have started off a little slow. It's still worth the time and effort if only to find out who the little baby is going to take out next.

Dead Zone. This show continues to be extremely good TV. As I was watching the season premiere I commented to my wife that this show was becoming very X-File-ish (good stand alone stories from week to week with a really good overall "mythology" story). Sean Patrick Flanery's Greg Stillson is one of the best characters on TV. Looking forward to the coming season.

Side notes: Caught an episode of Lisa Kudrow's new show on HBO - The Comeback. Yikes is that thing all over the place. Won't be wasting any VHS tape on that one....RESCUE ME returns with its 2nd season premiere this tuesday night, June 21 at 10pm on FX. Be there or be square....Last but certainly not least, SCI-Fi channel's break out hit BATTLESTAR GALACTICA returns to the airwaves on July 15th. I can hardly wait.

But what about 24 I hear you cry......nothing new to report on that front. I'm still working on Season 4 recaps to figure out the best way to present them here....with any luck I'll have that squared away soon. I'm on the lookout for snippets of info and will post them immediately upon discovery.

4 earthquakes in one week (and a Tsunami warning to boot) have renewed the fears that California is on its way into the ocean. I hate to tug on Superman's cape and spit into the wind here but its not like we have all spent the week rocking and rolling to work. Talk to me after the next couple of "big one's" hit (if the phones are still working) and we'll discuss the potential of oceanfront property in Bakersfield....besides I'll take an earthquake any day over a tornado....the idea of something appearing out of nowhere and taking my house 1/2 a mile away really doesn't appeal to me at all. What a surprise.

    Whoa! What's that?.......oh just the 1pm train......

    Series Premieres

Just a quick reminder of a few upcoming series premieres.

Entourage - Sunday, June 5th at 9pm (HBO)
    The 4400 - Sunday, June 5th at 9pm (USA)
Dead Zone - Sunday, June 12th at 10pm (USA)

Set your VCR, DVR or TiVO and enjoy!

Also - as a bonus it looks like ABC is replaying Lost on wednesday nights at 10pm. Unfortunately the first episode was last night but if you jump on board now you'll get to see quite an adventure over the summer.

For anyone out there who might be waiting - the recap of the Lost season finale should be up soon. I'm still trying to get all of the 24 information squared away for presentation....but that's my problem not yours.

    Thanks for stopping by...

    The More the Merrier

As you will quickly notice this is going to be more than just a blog about 24.

I intend for it to be a space of random thoughts, observations, and links to assorted info and articles...if I see it or think about it you may end up stumbling across it here.

Anything from an exasperated thought about my beloved Red Sox (yes - they are currently driving me and the rest of the Red Sox Nation crazy!!!), something about the latest episode of this or that, how things went in my latest round of golf or some absurd news story from around the globe.

24 may have been the inspiration but there is a heck of alot more things out there that keep me entertained.

    Perhaps you will be too....hopefully....maybe....

    Rhode Island drivers!!

After spending the first 23 years of my life in Rhode Island (5 of those behind the wheel of a car), this article doesn’t surprise me at all.

My favorite line “The state of Rhode Island leads the nation in driver cluelessness…”

…and then it starts to snow.

    Cool little Interview....

...with series Co-creator Robert Cochran on TV Guide Online.

    http://www.tvguide.com/news/thebiz/

    (thank you TV Guide online)

Looks like our favorite Super Agent will return and find himself right in the middle of another mess.

Did we ever really expect anything different?

    Kung Fu?

So I stayed up wicked late last night and caught the SF...well done guys. Very well done.

A few random thoughts on the final two hours of the day....

Thank God that Tony and Michelle ended up back together. I spent the first hour with my fingers crossed that Mandy wouldn't get some strange "urge" and shoot him. I wasn't really all that concerned when the car blew up since the geniuses at Fox showed us all a preview of her confrontation with Jack...nice effort building up the suspense. I did feel pretty badly for Michelle though....Of course when Tony turns up safe and alive, Bill Buchanon says Michelle has left the office and then they cut to a car in the parking lot in the rain...I look over at my wife and say - they damn well better not have her do something stupid like kill herself...then Tony has to go with the Secret Service assassin to try and find Jack and we all have to think - Is Tony going to get popped by the evil dude? Fortunately we were all left with a very touching moment between 24's favorite couple.

The whole Chinese Consulate storyline was a little annoying. Once they shot the missle down I looked at the clock and said - oh boy we still have 35 minutes left. We'd better not get stuck watching them drag out the Consulate story...thank heavens they didn't. One of the few real surprises of the night was the abduction of Agent Burns. How cool was that when the door of the SUV opened and Annoying Security Dude was sitting there. Whoa. Makes you wonder how many people have been put on a boat to China never to be seen again.

So Marwan commits suicide by jumping out of a parking garage?? They couldn't have come up with a better way for this guy to go out?? Better still - couldn't they have found a way to keep him alive and have him escape?? Mandy manages to show up every season to wreak havoc. I think we needed someone like Marwan to show up in the middle of the story when things are lagging - since we don't have Sherry Palmer to love to hate anymore. Oh well...RIP Mummy you will be missed.

As for Vice President Logan - he is a shmuck! Nothing new to report there but I have to say it out loud. What a spineless jellyfish. The real question is how the heck this guy got to be Vice President. Makes you question Keeler's decision making skills...but don't even get me started on those. Air Force One is in danger of being shot down by a missle. The President and his son are strapped in and bracing for the worst...Nah - they are hugging in a conference room so they can be tossed around like rag dolls if/when something actually does happen...whatever. Back to Logan...Best line of the night - "Hear no evil". Watching him try and stare Palmer down was classic. The little smirk on Palmer's face...like he's thinking "You want to go little man?? I didn't think so." I'll miss Palmer next season unless he shows up 10 eps in to run CTU or lead a covert ops team on a mission. The folks at Fox will come up with something.

What about our favorite Super Agent Jack Bauer?? I liked how things ended up with him. So a very large number of people think he is dead. Does this include the Chinese? Are they going to believe the Logan Adminstration if they try and tell them Jack was killed by the Secret Service trying to escape?? Annoying Security Dude seems a little smarter than that. Who knows...Now he gets to wander the world like Kung Fu...constantly on the move but only a phone call away should America need him. Jack and Audrey?? Wow - that sucked....and how'd you like to be Audrey? First your husband dies then the man you love dies (or so you are left to think...) Ouch. After finding her extremely annoying for the last several hours (but not Chloe annoying) - I actually felt bad for her at the end. Personally I was hoping Jack would give her a call before he skipped town but we'll never know. Nice conversation between Palmer and Jack. I liked how Palmer kept calling him "my friend". Don't know why but I did. Hopefully it won't be the last time the two of them speak....hey - we can hope right?

Oh yeah - I guess someone needs to tell Kim that her dad is dead. Where's Chloe?? She'll be able to be tactful right??

    Before you ask...

No - I haven't seen the Season Finale yet but I have managed to remain on media blackout since monday night. When I finally get around to watching it on tape (probably a bit later this week) I expect it to be amazing, just like the entire season has been.

    A few nagging questions -

Is Tony a goner? When he and Michelle proclaimed their love for each other last week and he went out into the field all the signs pointed to him heading to the big Interrogation Room in the sky. Personally I hope they spare him. I happen to like Tony and Michelle and have been rooting for them to get back together all season. I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope.

Is Jack going to make it through the day? I read a comment by Keifer where he said who knows if Jack will be back...I'm not really convinced that things could go on without him...I like Tony but I just don't see him carrying the show (if he survives...)

Will Chloe ever stop being so annoying? You know I've heard people say they think she is the best thing about the show. Sorry I'm just not feeling it...There was a glimmer of hope when she went out in the field and took out the assassin with the gun....then nothing. She's been buggin the hell out of me for 2 seasons now - and I heard she is back next year!!! AHHHHHHH...

Soon it will all be revealed...count on the fact that once it is I'll be sharing my thoughts (good and bad) in this space.

I'll bet you can hardly wait...NOT.

    Welcome

I've been doing a random 24 recap now for the last few seasons and everyone has been saying that I should just post it all on my own blog.....so - after going back and forth I finally stepped up and took the plunge.

    The result is 24Geek.

Other than a few close friends and relatives I doubt this will be seen by anyone but it's a nice place to collect my thoughts - and share them with the world.

    ...and away we go.
